Parker Youth & Sports Foundation (PYSF) Awards Three Grants March 11, 2024 at Yakima Monday Morning Quarterbacks Meeting

Grants Awarded to Single Track Alliance, OIC of Washington and Monday Morning Quarterback

On March 11, 2024, at 11:45 AM, Parker Youth & Sports Foundation is proud to present three $1,000 grant awards to deserving youth sport organizations. The Yakima Monday Morning Quarterback Club hosts this presentation at their meeting held at the Suntides Golf Clubhouse. The three sports organizations receiving awards will have a representative present. Each program serves youth athletic programs that are open to all youth throughout the Yakima Valley.

Single Track Alliance, sponsored by Yakima Valley Mountain Bike Team, is awarded a $1,000 first-time grant to support facility, equipment acquisition and competition expenses for this growing outdoor youth cycling program. The Alliance competes with the Washington Student cycling League.

OIC of Washington Recreation Program receives $1,000 to support the OIC sport leagues, sport camps, robotics/engineering programs and the OIC MLK-March Madness Basketball League. The OIC sport programs are designed to allow all youth to have opportunities to learn sport skills, have fun, and learn sportsmanship.

Yakima Monday Morning Quarterback Club is awarded $1,000 for their Guest Speaker Program. At each Monday Morning Quarterback Club meeting speakers from youth athletic programs receive a contribution for their program. The guest speakers represent schools in the valley and $100 is contributed to the youth sports program the guest speaker represents. There are approximately 30 guest speakers each year who represent youth sports in Yakima County.

The Yakima Monday Morning Quarterback Club meets at 11:45 am every Monday throughout the year at the Suntides Golf Clubhouse to discuss the achievement, development and program needs of youth athletics in Yakima County. The meeting is open to the public. This year the Monday Morning Quarterback Club celebrates 75 years of work directed to young athletes and the development of athletic programs in Yakima County.

This year Parker Youth & Sports Foundation celebrates 20 years of providing funding for Yakima County youth athletics, parks and YVC scholarships.
