2026 Yakima Sports Legends Come to Town August 28th & August 29th!

Parker Youth & Sports Foundation Hosts the 22ND Sports Galore Dinner & the High Hopes Golf Tournament   

The 2026 Sport Galore week features five multi-sport athletes who reflect the variety and diversity of Yakima Valley athletes.  It will be an Olympic sport environment with unique activities at the banquet room and on the golf course. Those attending the banquet dinner will have an opportunity to meet and hear stories from the five 2026 Parker Youth & Sports Foundation legends:   The 2026 Sport Legends are: The late Spud Edmondson (1946-2024), Angie Pleasant Crawford, Ryan Leahy, Annie Schefter Knudson, and David Trimble Sr. These legendary sports heroes and more will be honored at the Parker Youth & Sports Foundation (PYSF) Sports Legends Banquet Friday, August 28th. Register by going to the website www.parkeryouthfoundation.org or by phone 509-469-9336.
 
2026 SPORTS LEGENDS DINNER Friday, August 28, 5:00 – 8:30 pm at Yakima Convention Center  The Legends Dinner includes an Olympic style international dinner, silent and live Auction with Raise the Paddle.  The cost is $70 per guest.  Pre-registration ensures table seating.  Presentations will come from the 2026 Yakima Valley Sport Legends. Alan Sillence and KIMA TV sportscaster Ryan Rogers are the masters of ceremony for the Banquet. 
 
"2026 HIGH HOPES GOLF TOURNAMENT” Saturday, August 29, 7 am youth & 1 pm adult tee off at the Apple Tree Golf Resort.  Lunch is served at 11:00 am. The shotgun start is at 1:00 PM.  The fee is $600 per foursome or $150 per player. The player fees provide a round of golf, a complimentary lunch, golf gift, and the High Hopes Trophy Par-Tee after play. Pre-registration is requested.

Angie Pleasant Crawford: 3-sport All-State- selection in volleyball, basketball, and track. Basketball scholarship to Univ of ID. Served Navy 25 yrs & played All-Navy team with MVP Champ honors. Ret. Officer. 15 yrs D-1 Referee. A.C.Davis H.S.

Ryan Leahy: 3-Sport first team. All-State football game. MVP HS Feeder baseball. 2-year Amer Leg. Beetle. 4 yr Notre Dame football Guard & 2-year Capt., playing in 5 bowl games.- Shriner E-W Game. 2 yr NFL Arizona. Eisenhower H.S.

Annie Schefter Knudson: All-American soccer NSCAA & Parade Magazine. 2001 3A state soccer champ. 2001 3A State basketball Champ. Notre Dame 2004 National Soccer Champ kicking winning goal. US Natl Team. W. Valley H.S.

David Trimble Sr: 3-sport first team All-State football, basketball and baseball. Beetles 1979 Amer. Legion World Series Champ team. One-yr Pro baseball. Four-year football scholarship Univ of Washington. Qtrback All-State team.  A.C. Davis HS.

Parker Youth & Sports will award J.P. Kissling of Fidelity Title, Inc., the 2026 Contributor of the Year Award in tribute to his multiple year sponsorship of the Eisenhower and Davis golf teams in the Carol Finney Youth Flight tournament. The board of PYSF selected Don Erickson as the 2026 Parker Partner Award – for his decades of service setting up and managing the High Hopes golf tournament, recruitment, and sponsorships.  The 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to a youth sport solider of courts and fields, Rich Austin, for his volunteer and career years directing and organizing youth sports in Yakima Valley.
