New Event - "Parker Kids Sports Day"

A new venture for us at Parker Youth and Sports Foundation this year is the "Parker Kids Sports Day," to be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at Parker Field and Shearer Gymnasium on the Yakima Valley Community College campus. We will partner with Yakima Valley Community College athletics, the Yakima Parks and Recreation Department, First Tee of Yakima, the Yakima YMCA, the Yakima Police Athletic League, and Yakima Fire and Rescue to provide kids an opportunity to learn new athletic and lifetime skills.
This is a free day for kids to explore and enjoy different sports. There will be different sports stations in baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, softball, and volleyball for kids to explore. Coaches will be among the best from around the city, including the YVCC staff.
We will target kids from the fifth through eighth grades, but the event will be open to kids of all ages. We hope to find a sponsor to supply free hot dogs and drinks for all in attendance. Further details are being worked out, but if you want to volunteer or get involved in some way, please call our office at (509) 469-9336 or Eric Carlson at (509) 728-1703.
